A nice welcoming entrance, but the room was a nightmare. Me and a friend stayed on the 2nd floor back room. It looks like NON of these pictures. Dry blood stains on the bed sheets. Stains on the back of the pillows. I felt uncomfortable to lay in my bed. The location was deserted, nothing open. Had to drive 15 minutes out to the nearest grocery for food. It's a nice old building but I honestly feel like we were lied to. We booked 2 nights non refundable, only stayed 1 night because we were bored, and really uncomfortable with the living conditions.

Two nights in the penthouse. Letter box view of the Ocean was fine but neighborhood roof top to the left an eye sore . Room was a gift for a birthday and on arrival manager? Was not aware of conditions of the booking? That is to say was not sure if breakfast was included or not. The booking also was to include chocolates and wine on arrival, but no mention till we came back from dinner to find the items on the floor in front of door, possibly after a phone call from our son. Under the bed had not been cleaned. Chocolate wrappers from previous guests and very dusty. The hand basin in the bathroom needs clearing as it is very slow to drain, also grime on the lever detracts. Although this room will be an excellent choice Penguin has nothing to offer, el perro, well good luck.
Enjoyed my stay at the Madsen. In a quite little town directly opposite the ocean. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice old building with character. Late check in ans early check out wasnt a problem.
Fantastic clean room, excellent service, superb location. The bed was very comfortable - great mattress! And the shower was great. There were some lovely thoughtful touches such as putting the heater on in our room so it was nice and warm when we arrived. The building is respectfully maintained in its original style with some tasteful modern alterations.Fabulous! I'd give 10 stars if I could
